Many women treat themselves to an O subscription, but what happens if you find yourself wanting to cancel? Unfortunately, many magazines make this process difficult. Luckily, canceling your O, The Oprah Magazine subscription is fairly easy as enjoying the featured articles. If you want to cancel your magazine subscription, here are the steps you’ll need to follow:

What You’ll Need

  • Account information ( Account number, expiration date listed on your magazine)
  • Personal information (Name, mailing address, email)
  • Stamp
  • Envelope
  • Pen 

Steps to Cancel

  1. Gather the materials listed above.
  2. Wait for a monthly invoice to come through the mail. Open the mail and retrieve the invoice with your account information and personal information listed on the document.
  3. Write "cancel" on your invoice.
  4. Take a picture and save it for your records in case you run into issues.
  5. Return your mail (with the invoice) to: O, The Oprah Magazine P.O. Box 6000 Harlan, IA 51593
  6. Your subscription will be canceled and a refund will be issued for all the remaining copies that haven't been mailed at the time of the cancellation. Disregard any bills you may receive after canceling your subscription, and accept any issues already in the mail.
  7. Retain all subscription information for your records.

I've tried to cancel this magazine before but was unsuccessful. I do not like the magazine. I was offered a free one year subscription and was then stuck with it. I am on a fixed income now and can't afford something that I don't even want. Please return the 44.00 dollars you just took out of my checking account before I start bouncing checks. Please act quickly. BTW..there is just too much advertizing in your magazine. That is why I don't like it.

Hi! What a great question. I'm assuming your friend has the account information, so you wouldn't be able to transfer it to someone else without her knowing. I'd accept the most recent subscription as a gift, and pass the magazines to co-workers or family members who have time to read them. Gently suggest to your friend that for a gift next year, you'd just like to spend time with her. I hope this helps!

My friend keeps renewing the subscription to Oprah Magazine as a gift to me. However, I do not have time to read the magazines and I hate the subscription to go to waste. I don't have the heart to tell my friend since she's doing it as a gift. Any suggestions?? She just renewed the subscription again through Dec. 2012.
