Pronounced "ah-sigh-EEE," this fruit has antioxidant properties similar to other berries like blueberries, blackberries, and grapes. Companies have jumped on the bandwagon to offer acai products, and many of them have gotten in trouble by U.S. Government, according to the consumer advocacy website Consumer Affairs. Acai berry-promoting companies sign consumers up for “free trials” that wind up costing a lot more then the customer expected.
