Steps to Cancel:

1. Gather all the necessary documents that you have for your Discover credit card. Be prepared to give your account information, including your personal information. 
2. Call Discover at  800-DISCOVER in the United States, or non-United States at (801) 902-3100.

4. Clearly state that you are looking to cancel your Discover credit card. 
5. Requst to pay your final balance on your Discover credit card in full over the phone. You are forbidden to cancel the Discover card until you have a $0 balance. 
6. Cut up your credit card after it has been canceled.
7. Review your bank account 30 and 60 days after you cancelled your card to ensure there are no additional charges from Discover.
