Macy’s is a national retailer that offers a store-only credit card. The card offers specialty sales, rewards, specialty mailers, and priority customer service rights. While this card is enjoyed by many, upon signing up some people do not realize that this is actually a credit card. So in the end, they are stuck with another credit card that they have to manage from a store they may or may not shop at frequently.
In fact, Yahoo! posted a recent incident that relates to just this. The customer complained: “The store clerk told me that it wasn't a credit card and that I'd have to call, but after reading the information I realized that there were no "regular" store cards (for free benefits and such). She told me the card would come in the mail...”
