Zune Pass is an entertainment platform analogous to iTunes, allowing users to browse and buy from Microsoft’s large entertainment library. In addition to music, the library contains videos, podcasts, pictures and apps, which users can then download at a cost of $15 per month. While you are still paying for the pass, you have unlimited use of the entertainment library, and can download as many tracks as you like. However, you can only download them to certain devices, including your computer, your Xbox 360, Zune HD, or your Windows Phone. You cannot burn them to CDs or upload them to Apple devices or other similar products. The exception is the “Keep Ten” rule, which allows you to keep 10 tracks each month, even after cancellation.
Cancelling your Zune Pass account isn’t difficult, but be sure before you do that you actually wish to cancel your subscription. Not only will this make it so you cannot use it any longer, you’ll also have only limited remaining use of the tracks you downloaded: Only the ones that fall under the “Keep Ten” category will be yours once the pass is gone. Still sure you want to proceed? Follow the simple instructions below to shut down your account.
